Hope your spring/summer is off to a great start. Please see the message below from Claire Butler, the head of Killington Mountain School, seeking information on your interest in training at Killington after the World Cup. If there's enough interest in it, it could become a reality.

Superstar would be an incredible venue for FIS and upper-level U16 athletes. Skylark is the trail used for the WC training and warmup, and that would be well suited to the full spectrum of ages. Please read the note and fill out the form!

Sincerely,
Sam Damon

Hello, all -

I hope that you are enjoying the change in season and the end of the academic year for many of you. Congratulations on what was an exciting winter for the eastern region.

I am writing to ask for your response to an interesting potential training opportunity at Killington after the 2023 Stifel Killington Cup. In partnership, both Killington Resort and Killington Mountain School are always looking for ways to amplify the benefit that hosting a World Cup can provide for the greater ski racing community. This year, we would like to explore the possibility of providing access to training lanes on both the Superstar (World Cup race trail) and Skylark (World Cup training trail) venues for a short boost of 7-days beginning the week after the conclusion of the Sunday race. We approximate 3-4, 2-3hr sessions per day with a total possible 270m-285m vert. drop and 870m-970m of skiable length depending on lane configuration.

At this stage, we are not asking for firm commitments, but rather gauging interest and collecting feedback to inform our next steps. Please take a moment to indicate your program's interest in this opportunity by filling out this survey. There are still many details to solidify, though the information in the survey provides some more information for your consideration. Please feel free to provide additional comments at the end of the survey that will be helpful for us to understand what would make this potential training option more attractive for your program; or reach out to our Venue Manager, Tyler Smith, [email protected] to share your thoughts. Please also share this survey with your colleagues and contacts--the more feedback the better at this time. We know that fall planning is already well underway, so we will move quickly on our next steps should your interest support moving forward with the project.

We thank you for your responses as we look deeper into maximizing the rare asset that is early season training in the east.

Think cold temps,

Claire
