Join us for an in depth view of the how, the why, and prescription to advance our athletes development.

    -Look at the whole picture
    -Assess the root of the issue (maybe not the gross movement it effects)
    -Build a prescriptive or development plan to correct
    -Re-evaluate progress on a regular basis and adjust
    -Simple cues for the athlete 

          
Oct 21  Edging with Movement Analysis

Edging. What is edging?  How does it affect the way we make our turns? How can we teach good edging skills? How do we know we are edging enough? Can you edge too much? These are some of the questions we will try to answer during our MA Monday series. We will use video to look at edging at different levels and where we should be edging our skis. 
                  

Nov 4    GS progression and drills.
          **John Morgan
              This presentation will cover common vocabulary, use of constraints, and progressions for all age groups. Vocabulary to be covered will be: Rise Line, Exit Angle, Inclination, Angulation, Active Weight Transfer, Aerodynamics. Constraints to include: Dye, Brushes, Stubbies. Progressions of drills for different age groups and ideas how to combine age groups in the training environment.

Junior Slalom for younger athletes (U14-U12 geared more to U12 development), 

specifically blending effective short radius turns into jr. tall pole progressions

 

        -A  look at short radius turns and effective movements

        -Simple vocabulary for coaching ques (tip it-press it, etc.)

        -Environments that blend and build on successful adaptation of prior environments

 

-Building training plans that are simple and detailed covering:

                        Event

                        Objectives

                        Content

                        Constraints

                        What is good

                        Coaching points 

                        Athlete Questions

 

We will look at training plan and video from last years Performance Project at West Mountain as well as current thoughts on development.
