Barbara Ann Cochran is a former World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist. 

Barbara Ann is also a sports consultant and motivational speaker with her business, Barbara Ann Cochran Coaching.  Her desire is to help athletes, coaches, and parents blossom to the best of their abilities in the world of sports.  

The best way to describe Barbara Ann’s relationship with sports is: it’s her religion. If you have a conversation with her regarding her passion, you will quickly find that she is well-versed in what it takes to be a top-performing athlete. She knows what to think and how to get your mind to cooperate with your body.

NYSSRA will continue to offer Athlete - Coach - Parent presentations on a monthly basis throughout the year. These will take place in the evening at the beginning of a week. These presentations will cover a wide spectrum of information, delving into Conditioning, Nutrition, Mental game, Skill development, Athlete and Parent experiences, and Equipment. 

In this, the next chapter in our NYSSRA series on Communication and Education, Barbara will delve into the mindset of an Alpine Athlete. The difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset with a sharp focus on the mental aspects that alpine athletes deal with.
